This is a letter in progress that I plan to eventually send to Disney. Sorry to say they have lost their touch and may ne a honest oppnion ;) to get them back on the right track.
Dear Staff at Disney,
Over the years you can line up the begining years Disney movies to the movies made in the last 10 years or so and notice a loss in true feelings. The movies are also being released at a very fast rate as well as the speed of the story. They are getting choppy and to fast pased, not enough story time. It use to be nice to have to wait a while for the next antisapated Disney movie to come out. Sorry to point it out but Disney movies now are made for more laughs and less heart. Again sorry but it is true. Start off with a fresh mind set; set down and watch all the begining movies and get the lost motives back; start looking for fresh ideas and look to Studio Ghibli. Translating them has been great on your part. Studio Ghibli's movies have something Disney now is missing. Look to them to keep the ideas flowing. Just because the old ways may seem just that "Old", does not mean they should be lost to the past. Think of it this way, what movies do YOU want to remember or you want to BE remembered? You remember stories like Bambi, Snow White, Cinderalla, Lady and the Tramp, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, etc.. but can you really see people remembering Cars, Chicken Little, The Incredibles, etc.. Yes the have their laughs but they may be one too many. They don't really tell a story once you sit down and think about it. They don't take enough time to sit you down and get you interested. Nor do you really get attached the the Characters. Disney has lost its heart and I think Walt Disney would not be fully proud. Again look to Studio Ghibli and the way the tell their stories, the content and connection to real life in some way. The future should not be filled with only laughs, great stories should start to come out again before it is to late to bring life back into movies. Now another pointer, Disney is past due for an new Princess adventure. Enough of the number 2's coming out, your trying to grasp something that was lost and are doing a pretty poor job. With the number 2's and re-releases you are showing something is lost and are trying to fix it but you don't know how. You need to get a hole new perspective on story writing. Look around for people with fresh ideas and get a new group dedicated to thinking of new ideas but to be surrounded by begining images to keep the mood flowing.
