This is mostly for us Canucks to go check out your Zellers! They might have an awful selection of Poke-merch (heh, mine does XD), but this week they have 25% all Pokemon 'toys' and 15% off of the DS games :D Not a super awesome sale, but a sale nonetheless! ^^

And yeah, unfortunately I don't have anything else to share at the moment to make the rest of this post special XD Sorry about that ^^;;

So I went to Nekocon this weekend, for only 4 hours because unfortunately even though I asked for the time off I got scheduled to work.. anyway I still had fun :D Me and devinsparce and our friend Miko went together, at the last minute devinsparce decided he wanted to join in our cosplay :> so I helped him throw together a quick pokemon trainer costume XD Miko and I did Team Rocket grunts! we were going for a "punk grunt" look though, so they aren't meant to be dead-on as far as being accurate to the game goes. ANYWAY. come have a look at us, and the stuff I got yeah?! YEAH! [Warning to dial-up users and the like: This post has lots of big ol' images that'll make yer internets go all slow probably. :3]

Anyway thanks for me babble on about how excited I was! XD I had so much fun in the 4 hours I was there. I was overly excited about mine and Miko's grunt costumes, cause I did all the hard work in making our shirts accurate and amazing. I made the stencil by hand.. with a ruler, and a pencil on some posterboard.. and then we used a paint roller and some acrylic paint to paint on the Rs. :> it was harder than I thought it would be, but it came out great! At least, I think so. What do you think? :D

okay so, i have some big collection updates to make which i keep putting off since stuff keeps not arriving XD but it includes raichus, lions, pokedolls, halloween stuff (?!) badges and more! yeah, awesome! when it all arrives to be posted :P don't you guys do that too? put off collection updates for weeks waiting for new stuff...

so anyway my point is, i'm jealous of pokedoll collectors and want to collect ALL the special pikachu pokedolls now! but i don't know if i know of them all? i know of the 'regular' which i have, the DX which is coming, plushplush is coming (with pichu, who's dolls i also want all of) these two guys which are probably coming... one is a soft nappy fabric pikachu from a new year's pack and the other is 10th anniversary!



anyway who am i missing? i found this shimmery fabric pokedoll and it says its from a "pikachu pack" but doesn't list any size. regular size or DX, anyone know? also please let me know anything else! remember pokemon center pikachus are NOT pokedolls (like the monthly pikachus or christmas/halloween pikachus). i'm not collecting those. but on the topic of pokemon center pikachus...

I was thinking about maybe getting my mom some Butterfree for Christmas, and she specifically likes Pink Butterfree. I remember seeing a Kid somewhere, but that's about it.

I have irrevocably and devastatingly fallen in love with the pairing of Red x Green from 1st/2nd/4th gen. And I'm talking about the two boys. Red is of course our protagonist and Green is his cheeky stuck-up rival as we all know.

I don't have my camera right now-- mom took it to Italy with her for the week-- but as soon as I get it back, everybody will get to see what I've ended up with~

I've started making pokemon sculptures, too. Only a Mime Jr right now, but... I'll throw it into the collection post, and if anyone's interested in getting a sculpture from me, I might finally have the initiative to go ask for sales permission.

So, I've been considering it since September and now I don't think I can take it anymore. I want to break down and import SS from Japan (I'll be buying HeartGold here in America next year, yay!). However, I had a few questions.

One, what website do you guys use to buy your imports?

Two, do I need to use any other method of payment, or does my Visa card work (I'm assuming that it does)?

Three, about how long does it take to ship?

Obviously I don't order things from Japan very much. -_- Oh, and anything else you guys want to throw in about importing would be lovely, too. Thank you!

I've made the tough decision to part with the majority of my Buizel/Floatzel collection- everything I own of the two except for the Pokedoll, zukan, and two kids figures. =( (well, and a DS game case that's so practical I'll use it forever XD) I've updated my sales post with several figures of the two- chou get, TOMYs, rare Buizel kids figures (the swimming/attack kid and the one from the Movie 9 set), and misc other stuff. I've also taken some updated pictures of stock for a more organized appearance, so please check it out!



Also, as part of my collection weeding I'm taking offers on these two DX Korottomanmaru UFO plush:



They both have their hang tags and have either been displayed or in storage and are still in like new condition! I do share a house with pets but I try to not let them near my stuff and I use a lint roller so there may be a few traces of dander but I try to get rid of it as best as I can. I'd like to get at least $25 for each, but feel free to haggle if nobody's willing to offer more. Please keep in mind that shipping plus the cost of a box may be around $7.00 to the USA and more outside of the US and that an additional paypal fee will be incurred, and I'm totally willing to combine shipping with purchases from my sales~

I'll probably stop taking offers on Tuesday unless bidding slows down or I get an offer that I like. Rumour #1 - Swine flu vaccines contain mercury
Status - True, but there's a catch.

Though it's true a majority of flu vaccines contain Thimerosal (A mercury-based preservative that has been phased out of childhood immunizations since 2001 due to concerns that the preservative MAY be linked to autism. Emphasis on 'may'.) There are doses available without this additive, though not in stock with the current shortage. (Ask your doctor or shot administrator if there are any available!) Yeah, I know it's a blog..but, hey...

However, the PHAC (Public Health Agency of Canada) confirms there is mercury in the vaccine. There is 10 times more mercury in the dosage created specifically for pregnant women (Which should be a red flag, but, continue reading.), however, according to their site, it is noted the 50 ug in the dose (5 ug is in a standard dose.) is less than you might find in a can of tuna fish.

So...in my personal opinion...if you're refusing the vaccine based on the mercury content while wolfing down a tuna salad (and knowing this info, obviously)...it smacks of hypocrisy. Status: WTF?!

There's really no scientific basis for this. With people left right and center taking serious advantage of the flu scare running amock, it's a small wonder a cure from the era of the Spanish Flu would come about. What else were folks supposed to do in that time? It was 1918 for the love of pete!!

In this modern era of medicine significantly more advanced when we've mapped the human genome, are coming ever closer to curing the monster called cancer...I think we can handle a flu pandemic without wasting perfectly tasty onions.

Rumour #3 Swine flu makes the dead walk!

Status: I say again, WTF?!

A news story credited to the BBC reports that a new strain of the H1N1 flu virus has emerged, dubbed "H1Z1" by health authorities, or "zombie swine flu."

"After death," the article asserts, "this virus is able to restart the heart of it's [sic] victim for up to two hours after the initial demise of the person where the individual behaves in extremely violent ways from what is believe to be a combination of brain damage and a chemical released into blood during 'resurrection.'"

Rumour #4 Obama and his administration are giving out cell phones!!!
Status: Okay, yeah, no...It's true but not like you think.

My mom brought this one to my attention. Now, I'm all for holding politicians to the fire...even Obama. (Especially after his Nobel Prize win.. I still say if Obama got one, Stephen Colbert's done far frickin more for World Peace than his presidential ass has...Pony up, laureates.)

Anyway, the rumour has it that the current administration has signed in some obscure bill that miraculously avoided media attention, (and we ALL know how eager the media would be to splash this SOB all over TV) ,that gives free cell phones plus 70 mns/month all without cost to low income individuals. This usually gets passed around as an email, I got to read it as a note.

Now, the truth is not quite what one may think. There are, in fact, programs out there government sponsered to help individuals of low income to get and maintain a phone. (Trust me, I sure as heck wish I'd known about this when I had mine shut off while young and struggling.) Now, from what I can tell, some of these systems do *not* discriminate between 'landline' and 'mobile' phones. Truth be told, if you're transient, couch cruising or the like, a landline is *not* going to do you a helluva lot of good. (As well, let's face it, there are some regions where the cell phone is ~significantly~ cheaper than a landline.)

I'm hearing mixed accounts on what happens when you don't shine your badges in DPPt ranging from them breaking and consequently having to rechallenge gym leaders to not being allowed entry into the Elite Four until you shine them to the shining of badges to being something you don't really have to worry about.

So, is there a point to shining badges other than aesthetic purposes? (and aside from you know, playing simple melodies on them.)

I have a few questions.

1. I was trying to trade via the GTS in Platinum and I've come across a few pokemon where I meet the requirements but I'm unable to select the proper pokemon from my box to trade. For example, I was trying to trade for a Krabby. Only requirement was a male Larvitar. I have that, but I can't select it. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone know what the problem is?

2. Are there any special tricks to encountering the legendary dog in Fire Red and Leaf Green? I have both versions and have gotten to the point where a legendary dog should be roaming. Is it just random encounter or is there a way to track it like in DPPt?
